Moodboard is a high level studio for aesthetic motion picture. Specialized in the fictional and manufacturing world, we create films as hand crafted cinematic experiences.

Konstantinos Sampanis graduated in Media Management and is an autodidact filmmaker. During his semester abroad in San Diego, California, he worked on the short film SIX FEET DEEP, which later on was awarded with a regional Emmy in the U.S. One year later, one of his Manufaktur-Films was awarded with the prestigious German Industrial Film Award in Berlin.

Konstantinos Sampanis’ movies always carry his very own thumbprint: a completeley consistent look, emotions and a strong love for detail make his visual language highly recognizable.

    99Fire-Films-Award 2015

    Our short film

    99 hours for 99 seconds — that’s the challenge of the world’s biggest short film competition. A quite ambitious task!

    This year, we spontaneously took part in the competition for the first time. The topic of the 99Fire-Films-Award 2015, which is always announced not until zero hour, was: „What I always wanted to do“. Additionally, the WORD “Hashtag“ had to be a part of the film. Since we want to save our trip around the world for some time, when we actually have more than 99 hours for it, we came up with a new thought, which has probably popped up in the mind of some of you, too: One day without smartphone. 

    The filming was done on only one day, all over Düsseldorf and with no equipment besides a small camera (Canon 7D) – an unusual, yet very fun shooting! And of course, we don’t want to keep the result from you …

    Our Manufaktur-Film is awarded silver!

    Finally – yesterday we travelled to Berlin to attend the ceremony of the German Industrial Film Award 2014. The event took place at the Zoo Palast – a nice location with a great atmosphere! Among the nominated films were some entries that were definitely fun watching!

    Of course our personal highlight of the night was the “Newcomer“ category, for which our Manufaktur-Film SARTORIALE was nominated. And finally it was announced: The German Industrial Film Award for SARTORIALE! We are beyond proud to announce, that our work was awarded silver! At this point, we’d like to thank again everyone, who contributed to this project – this award is another acknowledgement you all did an amazing job!

    Commercial for innovative laundry sheets

    Last month, we worked on a last minute project for the company domal wittol which just released its new “Easy Wash“ laundry sheets.

    Being a complete innovation, this washing powder in a sheet is supposed to simplify washing like no other product. Just add the sheet to your laundry and turn on the washing machine – that’s it! Many different washing powders for all types of laundry are a thing of the past and the laundry sheet – as our film proves – are even child- and menproof! ;) 

    We hope you like the impressions of the commercial! We had a really fun weekend filming with this talented little one!

    Good news: One of our beloved projects is among the finalists

    The great news reached us a few days ago: Our film SARTORIALE, made for the tailoring company Cove&Co, is nominated for the prestigious German Industrial Film Award 2014!

    SARTORIALE shows the multifaceted genesis of a made to measure suit by the German tailoring company Cove&Co and focuses on the essential elements of tailoring: Tradition, passion and the pursuit of perfection.

    SARTORIALE is nominated in the “Newcomer“ category and there are now only 2 competitors left… We are very happy to be nominated for this prestigious award and can’t wait for the decision in october!

SARTORIALE shows the multifaceted genesis of a made to measure suit by the German tailoring company Cove&Co while DONNA captures the making of a bespoke dress.

    Watch the new commercial for Bosch mySPIN now!

    December started with a project for Bosch and their new product “mySPIN“. As a production of Connection Park, Konstantinos Sampanis directed this film.

    Bosch mySPIN makes it possible, to have your smartphone’s app in your car. Using it, you can not only answer phone calls directly, you can also watch your phone’s photos on the car’s display!

    What was extremely fun about this project, was to work with all the different actors – more than 10 different characters show up in the film!

    Manufaktur-Film for the tailoring company from Düsseldorf

    For the upcoming year of 2014 we are excited to pronounce an amazing project for the german tailoring company Cove&Co. Together with the firm from Düsseldorf we will be filming some store videos as well as two films from our own “Manufaktur-Film“ genre, which are supposed capture the exceptional art of bespoke tailoring.

    We are very excited about the corporation and looking forward to a fun project!

    The Emmy goes to…

    Six Feet Deep wins a regional Emmy!

    SIX FEET DEEP, directed by MOODBOARD founder Konstantinos Sampanis, was filmed in 2012 in San Diego, California, together with Karla Esquivel (producer), Alejandro Miyashiro (cinematographer), Drew Clapp (writer) and Jeremy Fabunan (editor).

    The 15-minute-long short film tells the story of journalist Vince, whose Afro-American colleague Danny is brutally murdered by neo-Nazis. Seeking revenge, Vince shaves his head and tries to befriend some of the local Skinheads until he finally is face to face with his friend’s murderer.

    Planned and executed by San Diego State University students, the project was nominated for the Regional Student Emmy and eventually rewarded with the prestigious trophy – for sure the culmination of the project!
